Pale Pinion heads a healthy haul

Well, this was more like an expected Spring catch this morning..and a bit more!
17 moths of 7 species were counted in and around the trap with 5 new for years.
The night was completely overcast and relatively mild at 10pm it was still 7 degrees, only probably dipping early morning to 4 degrees.
The main reason I think I did better was that the wind was not a problem, in fact there was barely a breath of it last night up until when I went to bed.

Best moth of the night was an annual visitor to my garden but never common, a Pale Pinion.

  1. Nice catch, I'm back from a liver damaging 3 days and nights in Prague so it's traps on tonight for some catch-up hopefully :)
