Migrants once more

Well I 'll take it back, it was a little sparse here in Cambs in the summer for migrants, as people all around were getting lots of Bordered Straw and Scarce Bordered Straws etc etc in the neighbouring counties.
It was only really the end of summer that we started to see an influx of the common migrants here in Cambs, and it's continued from there, at least until the temperature falls away at the weekend!

Last night was quite exceptional for migrants, with a Vestal spotted on an Ivy bush, and then when I got in, another one on the top of the trap!
Backed up by an equally impressive (but sadly a bit worn) Clancy's Rustic. This is the 2nd garden record after scoring one last year in late September.

A new record for the garden was also great, and a change from the hordes of Scrobipalpa ocellatella, a darker Scrobipalpa was potted and it turned out to be a nice variegated form of Scrobipalpa costella. It is the 678th species for the garden since August 27th 2021.

Warm again tonight, and one last shot? to get a Scarce Bordered Straw.

Moth garden list for 2022 stands at 640 species
