Fordham Meadows - 27/05/23

Leslie and myself ran a few traps along the footpath at Fordham Meadows on Saturday night, it was a warm day, with lots of activity as the sun was setting, but that was it really.
With a clear sky and fairly bright moon but no breeze, temperatures plummeted, so much so that my hands were hurting reeling in the cables at midnight because of how cold and wet they were.
Walking back to the car was also hard to see where we were going, because of the mist and steam from our breath!

Best moths were two dark form Treble Lines, an early Oxyptilus distans and an interesting Coleophora that will need dissecting.

39 species was very poor for the time of year, but reflects how bad the conditions are currently.

Still cool and breezy and night and really not worth it sadly.
