A lovely selection of moths last night, with 8 species present in and around the actinic trap.
The spring Orthosia's seem to be tailing off now rapidly, almost as if someone flicked a switch, last night featured none, replaced by early summer species in small quantities.
Best were 4 new species for the year of all shapes, shades and sizes.
One of them, Purple Thorn, was a new species for the garden, which is now at 691 species.
The weather continues to be very testing, very humid and stormy with gluttonous downpours.
