Yesterday started of very slow as the light dropped, moths were seen flying from right to left across the marsh, I quickly netted a few that I could reach, Square-spot Rustic, Snout, Herald (Getting better!), Pinion-streaked Snout (Nice!) then I saw a very light moth dance about in front of me, I quickly swept the net across and up trapping the unsuspecting moth.
It was quickly apparent what I had caught, a Webb's Wainscot!!! yee-hah over the moon (literally as it was shining bright tonight) this has been recorded here before but it was a first for me and a Nationally Scarce B species to boot!
After today's warm temperatures I may be tempted to venture out again for an hour....Twin-spotted Wainscot would be nice but maybe i'm pushing it a bit!
Webb's Wainscot (Another tick!)

The Herald (A nice surprise to net this)
