Another night and another load of good species, was very nice to see a Rosy Footman, completely out of habitat so I can only assume that it is a migrant, along with all the recent migrant activity we have been having.
Mompha propinguella is a moth I have only seen a few times before, what a stunner!Catch Report -19-08-12 -Back Garden Stevenage - 1x 125w MV Robinson Trap

Hi Ben ... Ticking along nicely in the new garden I see.
ReplyDeleteAre you certain that is a Currant Pug ?
I'm getting quite a few Wormwood that resemble that one. The wing tips look a bit sharp for Currant and the black marks along the forewing leading edge are missing...or is it a camera angle thing ?
Nice Rosy Footman....one that has eluded The Dells to date.
Hi Trent, pretty sure it is Currant, I had Wormwood a few times at a local nature reserve, the camera angle like you said is probably not helping. It was quite dumpy in appearance.
ReplyDeleteThanks, yes very pleased so far and i feel like im not overwhelmed with moths for a change!
The Rosy Footman was pure chance! Must be from Europe as I got it on the same night as people 10 miles from me were getting Vestals!
