The forecast was for light rain to ease by around 10pm, in fact it got heavier and persistent and upon driving home just after 10, the roads were flooded in places.
We did catch moths though! Even in that short space of time we amassed 10 species, with 3 found in my car when I got home!
The only new addition to the site list was a really washed out Green Silver-lines, usually a beautiful fresh green colour, I guess the weather had really taken its toll on this poor individual.
Also of note was a single Lobesia reliquana, only my second ever of this species (the first in pretty much the same area of Bramfield Woods). This is a rare moth for Herts currently.
On the positive side, we need the rain and this will hopefully promote fresh emergences of different species once the weather improves again.
8 Macro and 2 Micro species recorded.
Total : 10 species
1 species was added to the site list which now stands at 94 species for 2019.
